AbstractA new type of liquid crystals formed through hydrogen bonding between 4-alkoxybenzoic acids and 4-alkoxyphenylethynylpyridines have been investigated by differential scanning calorimeter and polarizing optical microscopy. These materials show a typical nematic phase.
