AbstractAn alkylammonium molybdate. composite is prepared from (NH4)(6)Mo7O24 . 4H(2)O and n-C18H37NH2 and its thin film is fabricated through a spin-on coating technique. Thermogravimetric analysis and elemental analysis. results in dicate that the main product of the composite is (C18H37NH3)(5)HMo7O24. The structure of the composite is laminated according to the X-ray diffraction pattern-The composite thin film exhibits reversible electrochromism. It is found that the composite thin film exhibits better electrochromic behavior in HCl aqueous solution than that in LiClO4/propylene, carbonate solution. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science B.V.
