Abstractsoluble poly(3-hexyl-2,5-thienylenevinylene) (HPTV) was prepared with 3-hexyl-2,5-thietiylenedialdehyde through reductive McMurry reaction. The polymer has been characterized by cyclic voltammetry. UV-Vis and IR-spectrum. After doped by FeCl3 in nitromethane, the polymer film shows conductivity as high as 10(-2)S/cm at room temperature. The solubility of the polymer in common organic solvents,such as chloroform, THF and toluene; will widen its application in electronic devices.
