The metallic nature of polyaniline

AbstractPolyanilin (PANI) doped with camphor sulfonic acid (PANI-CSA) and PANI doped with dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid (PANI-DBSA) composite film has been prepared and investigated. The transition from negative temperature coefficient of resistivity (TCR) to positive TCR indicates the metallic nature of PANI. A new equation rho (T) =rho(1) exp(T-0/T)(1/4)+rho(2) (T/T-0)(2) has been suggested to interpret the temperature dependence of resistivity (1.9Ksimilar to372K). When a DC magnetic field (H=5T) is applied, the magnetoresistance (MR) changes from positive to negative MR at about 245K, which indicates the main conduction mechanism has changed at higher temperature.
