AbstractA new late metal-transition complex {[(2-ArN=C(Me))(2)-C5H3N]FeCl2\Ar = 2,4-C6H4(CH3)(2)} was designed and synthesized. The behavior of ethylene oligomenization catalyzed by this complex with NIAO as cocatalyst has been studied. The effects of temperature, Al/Fe molar ratio, the concentration of catalyst and ethylene pressure on the catalytic activity and the rate of oligomerization were investigated. It was found that the catalyst is characterized by its high activity (the maximum is up to 4.25 x 10(8) g oligomer/molFe.h at 30degreesC, and 3.0 MPa) and high initial reaction rate. The kinetic curves obtained is of decay type.
