AbstractChemically adsorbed sulfur on Cu(1 1 1) surface has been investigated by using in situ electrochemical scanning tunneling microscope in perchloric acid solution. Two well-defined S adlayers with a (root7 x root7)R19.1degrees symmetry and a moire pattern are observed at different potential regions. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
