Adlayer structure of P2VB on iodine-modified Au(111) in solution

AbstractAdsorption of 1,4-bis [beta-pyridyl-(2)-vinyl] benzene molecules on an I/Au(1 1 1) electrode surface has been investigated by means of electrochemical scanning tunneling microscopy (ECSTM) in perchloric acid solution. The molecules are found to self-organize a well-defined adlayer on the substrate. Higher resolution STM images reveal the structural details of the molecules. A structural model is proposed for the molecular adlayer. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
