AbstractA dual-fluorescence emitting behaviour of coumarin 153 powder has been detected at high pressure while at ambient pressure the dye exhibits only single-band emission. Because of the strong electron-withdrawal group at site 7. these two fluorescent peaks can be ascribed to local excited state emission and charge transfer state emission, respectively.
