AbstractA novel chromoionophore 5,17-bis(quinolyl-8-azo)25,26,27,28-tetrahydroxycalix[4]arene has been synthesized as a highly selective reagent for Ni2+ in the presence of excess alkali, alkaline earth and other transition metal ions.
