EL character of a soluble Eu-complex

AbstractA novel soluble Eu-complex was synthesized in order to obtain pure red-emitting organic EL devices and use of triplet excited state. The complex not only displays a high luminescent efficiency but also has a good solubility in common organic solvent. The electroluminescence properties of the complex were studied by fabricating and characterizing three layer light-emitting diodes containing poly(N-vinylcarbazole) doped with the complex as active layer, and an external quantum efficiency of 0.04 % was achieved.
