Study on Ziegler-Natta catalyst for propene polymerization without external electron donor

AbstractThe catalyst MgCl2/TiCl4/BMMF-AlEt3 prepared with a novel complex 9, 9-bis (methoxymethyl) fluorene (BMMF) as internal donor was applied to propene polymerization without any external donors and the isotacticity of polypropene obtained was over 95%. In comparison with the catalyst MgCl72/TiCl4/Phthalate-AlEt3/DDS, the catalyst of MgCl2/TiCl4/BMMF-AlEt3 showed high activity. The effects of polymerization conditions such as temperature and Al: Ti ratio on the activity of catalyst, on the molecular weight, the isotaticity and the melting point of polypropene were studied. Polypropene was characterized by C-13-NMR spectroscopy and the structure of polypropene was studied.
