Active species injection in flue gas denitrification

AbstractActive species injection or radical shower technique in flue gas denitrification is simulated with a continuous-flow stirred-tank reactor (CSTR) model. The kinetic equations can be established with this simulation and solved with a computer program. Main fundamental reactions have been picked out from the results of the simulation of every active species injection system. The kinetic equations of OH, O(3), N, NH, NH(2) injection and NTP-activated NH(3) are solved and NO removal fractions as functions of different parameters are calculated. Practical feasibility of every system is discussed. It is round that the practical feasibility of OH, N, NH and NH, injection and generation is limited by their self-recombination and low obtainable concentrations. O(3), injection can be used to oxidize NO to NO(2). (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
