AbstractLadder-like polydecylsilsesquioxane (LPDS) was synthesized by a preamminolysis reaction of decyltrichlorosilane with ethylene diamine, followed by hydrolysis and polycondensation reaction. LPDS is soluble in a nonpolar solvent such as heptane and insoluble in a high polar solvent such as methanol. It was charaterized by IR,H-1-NMR, Si-29-NMR, GPC and X-ray diffraction.
