| Abstract | The titled compound (1) was prepared and characterized. Under suitable conditions, the monolayer of 1 can be formed at the air-water interface and transferred to various substrates by using the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique with transfer ratio greater than 0.9. The LB films of I deposited onto thr substrates were preliminarily characterized by FT-IR and low-angle X-ray diffraction analysis. The results from ESR and SQUID investigations indicate that the LB films of 1 possess antiferromagnetic properties at low temperature. Possible explanations For the magnetic behavior of LB films of 1 and comparison with that of the polycrstals of 1 are also presented. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved. |
