AbstractSeveral calix[n]titanium compounds (n = 4, 6, 8) have been synthesized and used for ethylene and styrene polymerization. Results show that ethylene was polymerized by calix[n]titanium/MAO systems with mild activity and very high molecular weight, and styrene was polymerized with high activity and syndiotacticity. In the case of calix[4]titanium and calix[6] titanium, the polystyrene obtained had syndiotacticity more than 90%. No syndiotactic polymer but only atactic polystyrene was obtained by calix[n]titanium compound.
