AbstractOptically active silacrown ethers 7 and 8 were synthesized. The photophysical behaviors of the silacrown ethers and their complexation with cations and viologen bromide were investigated. 7 exhibits good lithium ion-complexation selectivity and very good ability to complex with viologen bromide.
