AbstractNew charge transfer sails (ET)(4)(FeCl4)(2) 1 and (ET)FeCl4 2 have been prepared by the diffusion method [ET = bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene] and their crystal structures have been solved by X-ray analysis. The single crystals have a room temperature conductivity of 10 S cm(-1), metal-conducting behavior over the temperature range 250-300 K and 10(-2) S cm(-1), semiconducting behavior over the temperature range 160-300 K, respectively. The XP spectrum of (ET)(4)(FeCl4)(2) 1 was also studied.
