An Empirical Criterion for Superconductivity of Oxides

AbstractIn this article it is suggested that the Sanderson's equalized electronegativity, S-eq, can. be used as a new empirical criterion for superconductivity of oxides. The criterion shows that the S-eq values are between 1.94 and 2.40 for oxide superconductors with T-e above 10K; the S-eq values concentrate in a very narrow range from 2.12 to 2,34 for the high-T-c superconductors with T-c above 78K. This criterion can be applied to almost all the oxide superconductors.
