AbstractTwo-dimensional (2D) hollow sphere arrays were fabricated at a liquid-air interface via a self-assembly method. The ordered array was organized by heating the layer-by-layer (LbL) assembled microcapsule suspension, and the dimensions of the polyelectrolyte ordered microcapsule array can be controlled through tuning temperature and treatment time.
