AbstractOne-dimensional (1D) nanostructures of organic functional materials have attracted extensive attention recently due to their promising applications in high-performance optoelectronic devices. The ability to align and pattern 1D nanostructures into highly ordered arrays and complicated architectures is a prerequisite for integrating them into large-scale functional devices. Recently, enormous efforts have brought significant progress in the development of highly ordered 1D nanostructures of organic functional materials and the fabrication of high performance optoelectronic devices based on these structures. Here, the review will focus on the novel techniques for the fabrication of highly ordered 1D nanostructures and its application for the development of high performance devices and circuits. Finally, the perspectives and opportunities of highly ordered 1D nanostructures in the near future is also addressed.
