AbstractThe O-1s binding energies of MgO, ZrO2, TiO2, Al2O3 and SiO2 were determined by XPS. It is shown that the BSCCO-oxides interactions are predominately acid-base in nature, and the reactivity can be evaluated either by the acid-base parameter or by the core-level binding energy of oxygen of the oxide substrate materials.
