AbstractZigzag bipyridine (azpy, bipy-ete) induced crystalline assembly of the tetrahedral module methanetetrabenzoic acid to form the novel hydrogen-bonded organic framework with an unusual 3-fold interpenetrated pcu (alpha-polonium) topology.
