AbstractElectrospray ionization mass spectrometry and circular dichroism were used to investigate the factors which affect the motif of the human telomeric quadruplex, such as pH and cations. ESI-MS and CD spectra indicated that pH could induce both the conformational transition and the dissociation of the quadruplex. Moreover, K+ and NH4+ cations play an important role in the formation of the quadruplex.
